Hello and Welcome everyone to Quirky Horizons!
This blog was originally created by the end of 2018 under the name L’orizzonte verticale (or A vertical Horizon if you will); back then it was supposed to be a new outlet for research devised by a bunch of miscreant students of the University of Padua. Well, things didn’t go as planned: basically everyone had different agendas and things to do (especially exams) and I was the only one that was publishing on the site. In other words, since the blog became my personal pet project, I decided to mold it according to my personal taste (but always bearing in mind the original intentions) and so Quirky Horizons came to be. The blog is therefore still open to either collaborations and may be even used as a worm home for articles written by others.
A running column that I have been publishing for the last couple of years is the cinematographic ‘review’. On the first Monday of each month I publish an article about a movie that is either a classic or that flew under the radar or simply that I enjoyed. Be advised that usually I just give a few opinions and an amusing score; it is never an in-depth analysis. For now I think that I will continue working on this project since it keeps me occupied and I have a way to share some hidden gems of cinematographic universe.
That being said, the main aim of this blog is to write about different passions and explore topics in whichever way the writer sees fit. Languages for now include Italian, English and Spanish.
About myself
My name is Bogdan Groza and I’m a Romanian born Italian writer. I published a number of short stories and poems in anthologies and somehow managed to publish two books. I decided to link this blog to my YouTube channel (Be a quirky writer), hence the name; it is a way for me to intertwine my different projects, however many or various they may be.
In the contacts page you will find an e-mail address (the same one I use for my YouTube account) alongside different ways to reach me and see what I do.
About my esteemed colleague (who in spirit and charisma is on the team)
Adrain Momanu is a bit of an elusive being; for now he is an important consultant but as far as writing goes, he is one of those who constantly promises an article and not necessarily delivers. He might write a piece tomorrow or in two years time (more probably the latter). Who knows?
